Units of the armed forces involved in the large-scale military exercises are being withdrawn from Crimea

The website of the Ministry of Defense of Russia reports that the troops of the Southern Military District and Russian Airborne Forces involved in the military activities of the surprise combat readiness check and interoperability exercise at the Opuk test range start redeploying to their permanent dispositions.

At the present time, the military units and formations are completing marches to the seashore, railway stations and airdromes, where they are boarding onto the military landing crafts, flatbed railcars and planes of the military transport aviation.

On 22 April 2021, summing up the results of the military exercises, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation and Army General Sergey Shoigu ordered to finish the inspection military activities within the Southern and Western Military districts.

“I think that goals of the surprise combat readiness check have been fully achieved. The troops showed the ability to ensure the reliable defense of the country. In this regard, I have decided to complete the inspection activities within the Southern and Western Military Districts”, — Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation ordered.
