500 thousand of tourists can visit the resorts of the republic for ten days of May holidays. Such an opinion was given to a correspondent of the “Crimean Information Agency” by the Chairman of the Committee on Tourism, Resorts and Sport of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Alexei Chernyak.
“An influx of vacationers is expected to be very large. Now, it’s almost impossible to get tickets to Crimea. Many facilities have already been occupied. (…) To my mind, taking into consideration the fact that flight connection to Turkey was suspended, we can say that from 500 thousand to 1 million of tourists will visit our region during May. It is also expected that about 500 thousand of tourists will rest in Crimea for May holidays”, — Alexei Chernyak told.
He added that Crimea was visited by 300 thousand of vacationers in May of 2019 and he also resembled that the period of the coronavirus restrictions occurred in the same month of 2020.
Previously, the Head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov stated that up to ten million of tourists could visit the peninsula the current year.
