Airport of Simferopol has serviced 140 thousand of passengers at New Year holidays

During the period from 27 December to 10 January, the Simferopol International Airport has serviced 140,8 thousand of passengers, what exceeds rates of the same period of the last year by 13 %. More than 1000 of scheduled flights were assigned and accommodated in the meantime.

The press service of the airport of Simferopol reported that the passenger traffic peak was registered on January 3, when 11, 221 of people made use of services of the airport. Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don and Sochi became the most popular flight paths.

Particularly, 11 air companies operated flights to Crimea in 11 directions during the period of New Year holidays. Additional flights were inaugurated from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Ufa and Cherepovets to Simferopol and back.

The flights to Simferopol were in great demand for these New Year holidays. It proves the popularity of Crimea and need of air transport services, as this type of transport is comfortable and safe for traveling. Preventive measures of spreading COVID-19 were strengthened at the airport of Simferopol during the period of New Year holidays. Among other things, three modern stationary thermal imaging devices for flow thermometry of arriving and departing passengers were installed in December”, — Chief Executive Officer of the Simferopol International Airport Ltd Yevgeniy Plaksin told.
