The trolley bus equipped with an electronic audio guide was put into operation on the 60th anniversary of the world’s longest trolley bus itinerary Simferopol. It is expected that a project of audio tours will catch fancy of tourists, who prefer to reach resorts of the Southern Shore of Crimea by green transport, as Crimean Newspaper reports.
Representatives of a tourism industry took part in a test run of the project. As is known, the trolley bus route Simferopol-Yalta is some kind of a calling card of the resort and it’s popular both with guests and residents of our peninsula.
“It’s very symbolic that one of the oldest and unique routes will get a modern audio excursion using the technologies of GLONASS to its 60th anniversary. This will allow the route to obtain a tourist value and attract attention of tourists and Crimeans”, — Minister of Tourism and Resorts of Crimea Vadim Volchenko stressed.
And a First Deputy of the Chief Executive Officer of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea “Crimeatrolleybus” Vyacheslav Martynov said:
“This year, the Yalta trolleybus celebrated its 60th anniversary. A trolleybus is the only vehicle that can boast of having a smooth ride and large panoramic windows, looking through which tourists will get an opportunity to enjoy all beauties of the Crimean nature to the full extent. And the project, which we start in a test mode today, then we will launch it on an ongoing basis from 23 July”.
The route equipped with the audio guide will operate until the beginning of October.
The enterprise understands that besides the republic’s guests, local habitants also use the routes of “Crimeatrolleybus”. It won’t be comfortable for them to listen to the audio excursion. To prevent bombarding with complaints, representatives of the enterprise say that the trolley bus fitted with the audio guide is approximately scheduled to departure at 11:00 a.m. and 02:40 p.m.
“As a rule, Crimeans go to work in the morning and in the evening. In the next month, while only two buses will operate without an increase in the cost of travel. If our campaign finds a support among guests of the peninsula, then we will think about the way we can expand all of it and may be we will do it next season. Today is the tentative move”, — Vyacheslav Martynov commented on the innovation.
We will resemble that pursuing the goal of improving the quality of service that Crimeans and guests of peninsula are provided with, the enterprise launched its own WhatsApp online receiving office. All vehicles of the enterprise including buses and trolley buses possess posters with a QR code of the receiving office, whereto a passenger can send his/her appeal to the management board.

Nowadays, the SUE of RC “Crimeatrolleybus” is the leader of transportation of passengers in the Republic of Crimea. More than 2 thousand people work at the enterprise. The vehicle fleet of the enterprise consists of 248 trolleybuses and 348 buses. Buses of “Crimeatrolleybus” have already introduced on the route in Saki, Kerch, Bakhchisarai and Yalta. It’s planned to add Feodosiya and other inhabited localities.
