Crimean scientists ask to sign the petition to protect dolphins

The dolphin rehabilitation center “Bezmyatezhnoye More” published a post calling to support the petition defending the dolphins of the Black Sea.

Animal rights activists inform that annually more than 300 thousand of dolphins and porpoises die due to be entangled in fishing nets in the world.

“This problem exists not only somewhere in far oceans, but we face with it here in Crimea and right behind the door”, — staff members of the “Bezmyatezhnoye More” noticed and added that 1845 cases related to dead dolphins had been recorded for three and a half years of monitoring on the coast of Crimea. Many of those dead dolphins became victims of fishing gears.

The scientists ask all non-indifferent people to support the petition on prohibiting to use large-mesh gill nets in the Black Sea.
