Darrelle Valsaint from Haiti faced off against the resident of Simferopol Gleb Bakshi in the weight category under 75 kilos on the ninth competition day of the Olympics in Tokyo, as Crimean Information Agency reports.


Referees gave preference to the rival of the Russian boxer in the first round. But later on, notwithstanding the dirty boxing conducted by the athlete from Haiti, Gleb Bakshi convinced arbitrators in his own superiority.
As a result, the Crimean boxer achieved the victory and reached the semi-finals via unanimous decision. Thereby, at least, Gleb Bakshi secured a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
In the semi-finals of 5 August, the Crimean athlete will fight against the bronze medalist of the World Championship 2019 Brazilian Hebert da Conceicao Sousa.
