Since the beginning of the year, Crimea has been visited by 564,000 tourists. This was reported today following a meeting of the Government Commission on Tourism Development by Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk.
«By the beginning of the high season in the region, 1,112 accommodation facilities, 360 beaches, 486 hiking routes and 212 tourist attractions will be ready to operate», - noted Gotsanyuk.
Work continues on improving the Great Crimean Trail, which is over 750 km long and attracts lovers of active recreation.
The main flow of vacationers goes through the Crimean Bridge – this accounts for 85% of all tourist traffic. The land route through new territories is becoming increasingly popular. Thanks to this, travel time is significantly reduced.
The throughput capacity of border crossing points on the border between Crimea and Kherson region has been increased almost five-fold – to 10,000 vehicles per day.
«Transportation connections with other regions of Russia are provided by 230 bus routes. For rail transportation: during the summer season, 20 pairs of trains will operate to Crimea, covering 48 regions of Russia», - added the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea.
