Students from Lebanon and Syria will study for budget finances in Crimea

The Lebanese candidates for getting their education in Russia for the funds of the federal budget are being interviewed at the online platform of the Russian House in Beirut. Interviews with Lebanese and Russian compatriots are conducted by the representatives of 24 leading universities of the Russian Federation and the Crimean Federal University (the CFU — editorial note) is among those educational institutions. The Head of the Department of the International Activity of the CFU named after V.I. Vernadskiy Alexander Mashchenko stated about the event.

The similar interviews with candidates from Syria will be conducted next week.

The selection of candidates is also implemented by the group of experts from the Rossotrudnichestvo, Embassy of Russia and range of universities. Selected applicants have the right to list several universities they want to enter. The final decision on what university the candidates will be sent to is made by the Rossotrudnichestvo. Some of the candidates, who apply for getting an education in Russia, noted the Crimean Federal University as a priority higher education institution for getting an education. We hope we will get students from Lebanon”, — Head of the Department of the International Activity of the Crimean Federal University Alexander Mashchenko told.

The working party has the task to select the best candidates from Lebanon, who chose Russia as the platform for getting an education. Just 283 of 580 candidates, who had submitted the applications, were invited to participate in the interview. The names of the selected candidates will be known next week.In general, more than 100 students from such countries of the CIS as Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldavia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine, as well as from such far-abroad countries as Zambia, Congo, Algeria, Egypt, Botswana, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Palestine, Syria and Serbia study at our university trough the Rossotrudnichestvo”, — Alexander Mashchenko added.

Currently, more than 2400 foreign students from 51 countries of the world get an education at the Crimean Federal University.
