For the first time in ten years the Russian Navy will hold military exercises with NATO member states. As the Department of Information Management of the Black Sea Fleet reported, the Russian combat ships will take part in the “AMAN-2021” international military drills, which will take place in Pakistan next year.
“The Russian Navy will be represented by the forces of the Black Sea Fleet, including a frigate, patrol ship, tugboat, unit of the Russian Marines, demining squad and sea-based helicopter”, — Representatives of the Black Sea Fleet noted.
Apart from that, warships of the naval forces of Pakistan, Russia and USA, as well as the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom, Navy of the People’s Republic of China, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, Turkish Naval Forces, Philippine Navy, Royal Malaysian Navy, Sri Lanka Navy and Indonesian Navy will take part in the military drills.
For the first time in ten years the combat ships of Russia and NATO will participate in the joint military exercises. The previous drills took place near the coast of Spain in 2011.
The ship crews of 10 countries will be involved in the event and more than 30 states have confirmed their participation. The military exercises will take place in the port waters of the Pakistan port of Karachi. The main objective is to strengthen a military cooperation between countries for ensuring safety.
